Turf toe

Turf toe is the common term used to describe a sprain of the ligaments around the big toe joint.
It is often caused by excessive hyperextension (bending backwards of the toe). generally during sporting activity or other high impact movement that involves jamming the toe.

Our podiatrists are able to diagnose the condition, and will develop a treatment plan that may include:

  • Footwear advice
  • Mobilisation or massage techniques
  • radiological imaging if necessary, and develop a treatment plan including footwear advice for injury rehabilitation.
