Ming And Kristen Phasing out Bulk Billing

As you are now aware, Ming and Kristen are phasing out Bulk Billing beginning July 2026.

 

For many years, Ming and Kristen have provided their excellent podiatry care as a Bulk -Billing service.  Unfortunately, the Medicare rebate hasn’t kept pace and we’ve tried very hard to maintain the no- out of pocket service up until this point.

 

For example, in 2013,  the Medicare rebate for the podiatry service was approximately $52.  As of January 2026 the rebate is $62 (a 19% increase in 12 years).

In 2013 a non-Medicare standard consultation was $55. As of January 2026 the standard consultation is $77.  (A 40% increase in 12 years)

 

Recent changes to Medicare-based referrals have also led to additional administration time.

 

Unfortunately Medicare does not allow only paying only the difference between our fee and the Medicare rebate.  You will have to pay the full fee and then process your rebate.  The out of pocket to you will be approximately $17.

 

We respect this is a large change and  hope that by providing this information with plenty of notice will help you with the transition.
