Cracked heels

When the skin around the edge of your heel becomes too hard or thick (callused), cracks can appear on your foot or heel. These can deepen and become painful and even bleed, carrying a risk of infection.

Treatment involves removal (usually painlessly) of the hard skin surrounding the painful area. Most clients will experience relief immediately after visiting our clinic.

Glen Waverley Foot Clinic podiatrists can also educate you on the likely cause of the cracked heels, and may recommend the use of a specialised moisturiser for use on feet to help prevent the condition from reccurring.
